With the second half of the Major League Baseball season starting off strong in California, the San Francisco Giants, San Diego Padres, Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have joined forces with Save Our Water to encourage baseball fans to join the water conservation effort during California’s extraordinary drought.
The Save Our Water campaign will run for the remainder of the 2014 season with water saving promotional messages on the teams’ English and Spanish radio networks – including PSAs from SF Giants Javier Lopez and SD Padres Trevor Hoffman – in-stadium signage and digital advertisements, as well as through other communications channels unique to each baseball organization and its fans.
“We’re thrilled to be working with these MLB organizations to help promote water conservation throughout the rest of the season,” said Mark Cowin, director of the California Department of Water Resources. “We hope connecting with baseball fans will encourage even more Californians to join the effort to save water.”
Save Our Water has been connecting Californians all summer long to daily drought tips and news via its microsite – SaveOurWater.com – to help Californians find ways to easily conserve at home and at work, every day.
Californians can also follow along on the Save Our Water Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram accounts to join the effort and better understand ways to battle this extraordinary drought.
