So many ways to save! Start today and help make a difference.

  1. Install water-saving aerators on all of your faucets.
     
  2. For hanging baskets, planters and pots, put ice cubes on top of the soil to give your plants a cool drink of water without overflow.
     
  3. When ice cubes are leftover from your drink, don’t throw them out. Pour them on a plant.
     
  4. Every time you shave minutes off your use of hot water, you also save energy and keep money in your pocket.

  5. Turn the water off while you lather up, this could help save around 4 gallons of water each time you wash your hands.

  6. What is grey water? It’s recycled water without toxic chemicals from rain, baths,  sinks, etc that can be reused.

  7. Only wash full loads laundry and save gallons of water per day!

  8. Only water on certain days. Check your Company or water statement for more information.

  9. Water shaming! See someone wasting water? Check your local water company for numbers to discreetly report them, it's an act of doing your part in saving California during the drought.

  10. Be aware of and follow all water conservation and water shortage rules and restrictions which may be in effect in your area.

  11. Washing dark clothes in cold water saves water and energy, and helps your clothes retain their color.
